Slovak Online Car Marketplaces for New and Used Vehicles
Some people save up for a car straight from the showroom, while for others a used car is a good alternative. The Slovak market for buying and selling vehicles offers various ways to search — above all through online marketplaces. We have gathered the popular Slovak portals where you can buy a new car or find a well-proven used one at a good price.

Autobazar.sk — the largest listings database
The portal carries hundreds of thousands of listings: cars and lorries, motorcycles, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers, as well as car parts, tyres, wheels and accessories.
The interface lets you filter your search by make, model, transmission and body type, year of manufacture, fuel type, mileage and price, and to exclude damaged cars and vehicles from other countries.
Useful sections of the portal
The Predajcovia section lists the addresses of more than a thousand car dealerships in Slovakia and dozens in the Czech Republic — handy if you are considering buying from a dealer. The Zmluvy section holds the forms and specimen documents needed when buying and selling a car, the texts of the relevant laws, and a list of addresses of garages and emissions-testing stations.
In the Ceny áut section you can see how average prices for a chosen model have changed over recent years — this helps you judge whether the price in a particular listing is reasonable. There is also a blog with motoring news and a forum where you can put a question to other drivers.
The portal lets you check a car’s history by VIN. We wrote in detail about why this matters in our article Buying a car in Slovakia.
Why register
If you are being thorough about choosing a car, it is worth registering and setting up an account: you can save listings you like and come back to them easily. Registration is also needed to take part in discussions on the forum.
Autobazar.eu — advanced filters and vehicle checks

This marketplace carries hundreds of thousands of listings for cars, lorries, buses, trailers, mobile sales kiosks, as well as agricultural machinery, quad bikes, snowmobiles and motorcycles. Besides vehicles, tyres, wheels, parts and spares are sold here.
What you can set in the advanced search
The filter lets you choose the make, model, transmission and body type, number of doors, year of manufacture, fuel type, mileage and price, as well as offers on credit or in instalments. You can select only undamaged or only new cars.
The advanced search offers more than two dozen additional parameters: air conditioning, heated seats and windows, power steering, parking sensors and other equipment. You can also choose a preferred region or tick several neighbouring ones — Bratislavský and Trnavský, for example.
Imports, price history and condition checks
The site carries listings from both private sellers and dealers — the type of seller can also be set in the filter. If you are interested in imports, tick the option Vyhľadávať aj na dovoz (search imported vehicles too) or Vyhľadávať iba na dovoz (imported vehicles only).
The Vývoj cien section shows how the average price of a chosen model has moved over the past three years, and the vehicle-check function lets you look a car up by its VIN. If you want to be sure of your purchase, you can submit a request — a specialist will help with the choice and give the car you like a professional technical inspection.
Interested only in new cars? There is a separate section for that. The Predajcovia category has an interactive map for finding the nearest dealership for the make you want, and the Testy vozidiel section gathers thousands of test reviews of specific models.
AAA Auto — buying through a dealer
AAA Auto is one of the large car distributors in Europe and in Slovakia in particular. The company offers thousands of models for every budget: economy cars, family cars, crossovers and SUVs, electric and hybrid vehicles, minibuses, vintage and demonstration cars, and premium-segment vehicles.
You can buy a car offline at one of its branches around the country or online on its website. The search filter covers the basic parameters (make, model, year, price) and additional ones — colour, fuel type, average consumption, transmission, engine size, power and equipment. Budget cars and vehicles eligible for VAT deduction on purchase are listed in separate categories.
Technical inspection and financing
To be confident in your choice you can use the technical inspection service: specialists check the car against several hundred parameters using modern equipment. If you are considering buying on credit, the finance department staff will help you find credit terms and insurance. Leasing is available too — see the relevant section of the website for the terms.
Bazoš.sk and other listings sites
Bazoš is a popular Slovak classified ads site, which we covered in detail in our article Online marketplaces in Slovakia. Its motoring section carries hundreds of thousands of listings for cars, pick-ups, trailers, minibuses, buses, lorries, tractors, motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles and quad bikes, as well as spare parts, tyres, wheels, satnavs and accessories.
The search can be filtered by location and by a price range. Makes are set out in a separate, clickable column: choose Citroën, for example, and you immediately get all the listings for that marque. Bazoš has no registration, but sellers’ contact details are usually hidden — to see them the site asks for a phone number, to which it sends an SMS with a code. The site has a mobile app for Android and iOS.
Facebook Marketplace
You can also look for a car on Facebook Marketplace — all you need is a profile on the network. If the section does not show in your toolbar, you can enable it in your profile settings. There are plenty of offers straight from owners here, but the risk of running into a dishonest seller is higher.
Other online used-car marketplaces
Besides those listed above, vehicle listings are published on i-bazar.sk, tetaberta.sk, autovia.sk, predaj.sk, inzercia.sk, maximusslovakia.sk, 123dopyt.sk and edenbazar.sk. For boats there is the specialised boat.sk.
How to buy a used car safely
Check the car by its VIN before you meet the seller — this will show the real mileage, the accident history and whether there are any encumbrances. Do not transfer a deposit before inspecting the car in person and signing a contract.
Before buying, it is worth ordering an independent inspection at a garage or paying for the marketplace’s own check — the cost of such a service is trivial next to the price of a hidden defect. Compare the price of the particular model with the average-price history on the portal so you know the market level.
If you have recently moved here, give some thought to your driving licence as well — the details are in our article How to exchange a Ukrainian driving licence for a Slovak one.
You can check the official information here: the rules on compulsory PZP insurance and check a car’s current PZP cover.
Whichever of these marketplaces you use, the same thing awaits you after the purchase: arranging compulsory PZP insurance.
Before buying a car it is worth understanding how comprehensive cover differs from compulsory PZP insurance.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I look for used cars in Slovakia?
The largest marketplaces are Autobazar.sk and Autobazar.eu, which between them hold hundreds of thousands of listings from private sellers and dealers. There are also plenty of offers on Bazoš.sk and on Facebook Marketplace.
How do I check a car’s history before buying?
By its VIN. Both Autobazar.sk and Autobazar.eu offer this check. It shows the real mileage, accident records and other data about the car’s past.
Which is safer: buying from a dealer or from a private seller?
A dealer is usually more expensive, but you get a warranty, a verified technical condition and the option of arranging credit. A private seller is cheaper, but all the risk of checking the car falls on the buyer.
Can I buy a car on credit or lease?
Yes, large dealers such as AAA Auto offer credit and leasing. The terms depend on your documented income and your residence status in Slovakia — ask the seller’s finance department.
How do I tell whether the price in a listing is reasonable?
Look at the average-price history for that model in the Ceny áut or Vývoj cien sections. A price noticeably below the market level is a reason to be wary and to check the car especially carefully.
