What changed in 2026
The consolidation package affected almost every calculation, so last year’s calculators give the wrong figures. The main points:

- Tax rates of 30 % and 35 % have been introduced for high incomes
- The tax-free allowance rose to 497,23 € a month, but it starts to taper earlier and faster
- Minimum contributions for a živnosť holder rose to 425,03 € a month, the health rate from 15 % to 16 %
- The social contribution deferral for new živnosť holders has been cut from 12 months to 5
- The minimum wage is 915 €, the subsistence minimum 284,13 €

This information is for guidance only
The data is collected from public sources — Sociálna poisťovňa, Finančná správa SR and specialist publications — as of 2026. The calculations are approximate and do not take individual circumstances into account. Before any decision involving money, a contract or a tax return, check your situation with an accountant or a tax adviser.
You will find the official rates and forms here: the insured person’s electronic account and the tax return on the Financial Administration website.
For most of these calculations the starting point is the current minimum wage in Slovakia.
