Discount and Deal Portals in Slovakia
The Slovak discount market is made up of several different types of service, and it is worth keeping them apart: on some you buy a voucher for a specific service, on others you simply find a promo code for an ordinary online shop, and a third group helps you pick up food from a café at half price. Below we go through the most popular platforms and explain who each one suits.
Voucher and group-discount portals
The principle is the same everywhere: you register, buy a voucher (coupon) for a specific service or product, and then present it to the portal’s partner. The discounts here are the most noticeable, but a voucher has an expiry date and it is easy to forget about it.
Zľavomat.sk
One of the oldest and best-known platforms in Slovakia — it has been running since 2010. The portal collects discounted offers across most popular categories:
- travel and holidays — from country houses in Slovakia to resorts in Croatia, Italy and other countries;
- food and dining — tasting menus, lunches and dinners, cookery workshops;
- beauty and health — massages, cosmetic treatments, wellness procedures;
- entertainment — tickets for concerts, zoos, water parks and escape rooms;
- products — electronics, cosmetics, accessories, souvenirs.
To buy anything you need to create an account. If a service turns out not to be what was promised, you can contact customer support and get your money back; there is also separate protection in case the partner failed to provide the service on time or in the promised scope.
The site runs a mini-game called «Koleso šťastia» («Wheel of Fortune»), where you can win extra discounts, bonuses or credits towards future purchases. Frequent buyers have a Premium club: if you spend a certain amount over the year, you get part of it back as credits, the option to return several unused vouchers and priority support. The club’s terms change from time to time — check the current rules on the site.
Zľavadňa.sk
A large portal with more than a thousand active offers every day and a big network of vetted partners. The categories are roughly the same: travel and spa resorts, health and beauty (including dentistry), entertainment and escape rooms, electronics, clothing, homeware, plus services such as car repairs and training courses.
Registration is required to buy. The portal runs a «Garancia+» programme: if a coupon carrying that logo goes unused, part of its value comes back as credit towards future purchases — the credit is added automatically some time after the coupon expires and itself has a limited validity period.
There is also a loyalty programme: points are awarded for every euro spent and for approved reviews, and accumulated points are exchanged for credit. Points are valid for a limited time, so there is no point in hoarding them for years.
Zľavy.sme.sk
This is essentially a comparison site: the portal shows the best offers from several Slovak discount services at once. You can see which partner has the better price, where the rating is higher and where there are extra bonuses, without spending time going round a dozen sites.
The main categories are travel within Slovakia and abroad (Croatia, Italy, Czechia, Austria), health and beauty, food and dining, goods and services, entertainment. It is handy as a first port of call, with the actual purchase made on whichever portal you are redirected to.
CND.sk (CenyNaDne)
The portal specialises in holidays and travel. You will find beach holidays in Croatia, Slovenia and other countries, spa and wellness breaks with treatments and meals, winter offers with accommodation and ski passes, as well as sightseeing trips around European cities with an organised programme and transport.
You can browse the offers without registering — an account is only needed to buy a coupon. An unused voucher can be returned within a set period after purchase without giving a reason. There is also a «buy as a gift» option: the name on the voucher is changed in the «My orders» section after you log in.
Savings on tours can be substantial — often 30–40 % off the usual price, and with some offers children below a certain age stay free. Actual prices change every season, so go by the current offers on the site.
Promo-code aggregators for online shopping
Here you do not buy anything on the portal itself. The service simply collects valid promo codes and deals from online shops, and you apply the code at the checkout.
CouponZone.sk
A portal with promo codes, discount coupons and special offers. The home page shows the best deals of the day — discounts on accommodation bookings, free-delivery promo codes for major shops, discounts on electronics and cosmetics.
No registration is needed: you find the shop or category you want, click on the deal, the site shows the promo code (if one is required) and redirects you to the shop. The code is entered when you place the order. Sometimes there is no code at all — the discount is applied automatically when you follow the link.
Vašekupóny.sk
An aggregator of discounts and promo codes for shopping at more than fifteen hundred online shops. The portal adds dozens of new offers every day, in categories ranging from fashion and electronics to cosmetics and travel.
Some discounts are available only through this site — such exclusive offers turn up in the sections for large furniture and electronics retailers. The site also publishes tips on shopping well. The service is part of the international KUPLIO network, which also operates in Czechia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Austria and Germany — useful if you order from neighbouring countries.
KuponyZdarma.sk
A free resource for finding current discounts and coupons in Slovak online shops — from Alza.sk and Notino.sk to food delivery services. Offers fall into three types:
- Zľavové kódy — discount codes: a percentage or fixed discount on the whole order;
- Akcie — deals: free delivery, a gift with your purchase and similar;
- Výpredaje — clearance sales: sizeable discounts on individual products or categories.
Navigation is simple: pick a category or a shop, find an offer and follow the instructions — copying the code and applying it at the checkout where needed. The portal regularly runs free prize competitions.
Apps against food waste
Munch
The app brings together cafés, restaurants, bakeries and shops that have surplus food left at the end of the day. Instead of throwing away perfectly good products, these businesses sell them in «surprise boxes» at a discount of at least 50 %.
You buy a box without knowing exactly what will be in it: it might be a sushi set, a basket of fresh pastries, restaurant-quality dishes or a bag of fruit — it all depends on the partner and the day.
The app is available for iOS and Android. You register, see which places nearby are offering boxes, choose an offer, pay directly in the app and collect the box at the stated time. Besides saving money, it is also a contribution to cutting food waste.
In neighbouring Czechia the same platform runs under the Nesnězeno brand, so the apps overlap in how they work — no need to work it out separately when you travel to Czechia.
How vouchers differ from promo codes
- Voucher portals (Zľavomat, Zľavadňa, CND) — you pay in advance and receive a coupon for a specific service. The discounts are bigger, but the coupon must be used before it expires, otherwise at best you will get only part of your money back, and only as credit.
- Promo-code aggregators (CouponZone, Vašekupóny, KuponyZdarma) — you buy directly from the shop under its normal rules, including returns. The discount is smaller, but there is practically no risk.
- Comparison sites (Zľavy.sme.sk) — they sell nothing themselves, they just show where an offer is better value.
- Food apps (Munch) — savings on one particular meal, which has to be collected within a set time window.
How to buy safely
- Check the voucher’s expiry date. This is the main reason people lose money: the coupon is bought and then forgotten.
- Check the booking conditions. Tours and spa treatments often have to be booked in advance, and popular dates go weeks ahead.
- Compare with the normal price. The crossed-out «price without discount» does not always reflect the real market rate. A quick search for the name of the service takes a minute.
- Read reviews of the specific partner, not just the portal’s rating.
- Check what is included in the price. With travel offers, the tourist tax, parking, late check-in and any meals beyond those listed are paid separately.
- Keep your proof of payment. In a dispute with a partner, that is exactly what the portal’s support team will ask for.
Where else to look for good prices in Slovakia
Discount portals are not the only way to save. For second-hand goods and electronics, Slovaks most often look on online marketplaces, for cars — on specialised car marketplaces, and seasonal sales on electronics and clothing are easy to catch in Bratislava’s shopping centres. A separate topic is household appliances and electronics: there the difference between shops is often bigger than any promo code.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to register to use the discounts?
On voucher portals — yes, buying without an account is not possible. Promo-code aggregators work without registration: you simply copy the code and apply it in the shop.
What happens if I do not manage to use a voucher?
It depends on the portal. Some return part of the value as credit towards future purchases, with others the whole amount is lost. The refund terms are always set out in the rules of the specific offer — read them before paying.
Can I pay with a Ukrainian card?
Most Slovak portals accept ordinary Visa and Mastercard payment cards, but foreign cards sometimes fail verification. If a payment does not go through, it is safer to use a card from a Slovak bank — we have covered how to open one in a separate article.
How real are discounts of 70–90 %?
Large percentages usually apply to individual clearance items or to services with an inflated base price. Judge by the final amount compared with the market rate, not by the percentage.
Are these services suitable for buying gifts?
Yes. Voucher portals let you buy a coupon as a gift and change the recipient’s name in your account. It is a convenient option for massage, dinner or spa vouchers.

Do not forget supermarket promotions
Online discount portals are handy, but the biggest promotions are still in supermarkets. Weekly advertising leaflets (letáky) come out on Thursdays, and seasonal clearance sales of non-food items in Lidl are often cheaper than online shops — you will also find textiles, tools, garden and sports goods there.

Shops with regular promotions
Discount portals are good for a one-off search, but some shops run sales so regularly that it is easier just to follow them directly.
- 4Home.sk — homeware, sales running almost constantly
- Tchibo.sk — a new collection every week, previous ones go on sale
- TPD.sk — household appliances, last year’s models cheaper with a full warranty
- Zoohit.sk — pet food, regular deals on large packs
- eFarby.sk — paints and finishing materials, seasonal discounts in spring
Subscribe to the newsletters of the ones you use most often: almost all of them give a coupon for your first order, and you will hear about promotions before everyone else.
